Chhandabrati means “rhythm of life” and I have named this super soft kantha blanket in honour of the women’s embroidery group who created it.

The blanket is 100% super soft cotton.
Dark Indigo on one side and a soft grey on the other.
The fine kantha stitching is in yellows, reds and greens.
It is what is known as a 2 layer kantha, two layers of material stitched together.

At Sustle we love this blanket because it is so versatile.
Stylish on a bed or sofa and chic when used as a wrap on a chilly summer evening around the campfire or sitting on the beach.

Its lightweight nature means you can easily throw it in a bag or in your campervan.

Based in West Bengal, the women in this group are excellent embroiders and have been trained to work on traditional designs. They were formed by the Chhandabrati Weavers.
The women deduct a part of their income, which is collectively saved on their behalf by the organization and serves as an emergency fund. The group’s savings scheme has been a pioneering initiative.
